Obituary of Sillus Edison Marsee

     Sillus Edison Marsee, of Independence, KY passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the age of 80.

     He was born in Williamsburg, KY on April 17, 1938; the son of Emmett and Martha Marsee. Sillus had worked in maintenance at Duro Bag, was a 20+ year member of Grace United Baptist Church and loved to go fishing. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his cherished family.

     Sillus was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

     He is survived by the love of his life and wife for 51 years, Shirley (nee Kiser) Marsee; caring daughters, Emma (Will) Farris, Karen (David) Pennington and Sheila (Scott) Purdy; siblings, Jessie Marsee, Clayton Marsee and Lucy Renner; grandchildren, Kim, Brian, Greg, Branden, Steven, Kenzie and Eric; 8 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends who will mourn his passing and cherish his memory.

     A visitation for Sillus will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Highway, Florence, KY 41042. Burial will immediately follow in procession to Union Rice Cemetery in Union, KY.
