Obituary of Matthew Austin Combs

     Matthew Austin “Matt” Combs, of Cincinnati, OH and at only 25 years of age, passed away unexpectedly just 15 days shy of his 26^th birthday on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

     He was born in Edgewood, KY on June 16, 1993; the son of Douglas and Patricia Combs. Matt earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Kentucky University and was currently employed at Medpace as a Share Point Analyst II. He was a member of the Subaru Owners Club who enjoyed working on cars and going to car shows to check out the latest imports. Matt was an avid video gamer and often enjoyed traveling, especially to Chicago. He was a good-natured and carefree spirit who would give you the shirt off his back should you need it. Matt was an animal lover as well who liked nature while hunting and fishing. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with those he loved the most, his family.

     Matt was preceded in death by his loving mother, Patricia Combs; great-grandmother, Irene Ackman and his very best friend, Dallas Thomas. He is survived by his caring father, Douglas Combs; sisters, Samantha Combs and Emily Combs; paternal grandmother, Kay Combs; maternal grandparents, Donald and Shirley Stout; brother, Jessie “Jay” Stout; nieces and nephews, Lacey, Madison, Benjamin and another on the way soon; special friend, Nichole Fagre; childhood friends, Mickey Huffman and Stacey Brownfield; as well as many other close relatives and friends who will mourn his sudden passing and continue to cherish his memory. Matt will be greatly missed by everyone that ever knew him. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call a son, brother, grandson, uncle or friend.

     A Gathering of Friends will take place from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the funeral home located at 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. A Memorial Service will follow at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Pastor Bill Evans will officiate.
