Obituary of Richard I. Sewell

Richard I. “Dickie” Sewell, of Florence, KY passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at the age of 77. He was born in High Bridge, KY (Jessamine Co.), KY on June 29, 1941; the son of the late William and Lillian Sewell. He retired from CMC as a heavy equipment operator. Dickie absolutely loved the University of Kentucky, particularly basketball. He loved his dogs and boating. Dickie was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Richard Petty. Dickie was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Garry Sewell. He is survived by his beloved and caring wife of 32 years, Sharon Sewell; sisters, Jean Barker and Joyce Lesshafft; 7 children; many grandchildren and many life-long friends who will mourn his loss and cherish his memory. In keeping with Dickie’s wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family.
