Obituary of Deborah Elaine Carter

     Deborah Elaine “Debby” Carter, of Independence, KY passed away suddenly at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the age of 67.

     She was born in Kenton County, KY on April 20, 1953; the daughter of the late George and Martha Carter. Deborah worked in retail management all her life. In her spare time, she often enjoyed making crafts, tending to her flowers and baking delicious treats especially around the holidays. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her beloved family for whom she cared so deeply about.

     Deborah was preceded in death by her parents; her aunt, Jean Wood and her uncle, Carrol Carter.

     Those surviving to carry on Deborah’s memory and keep her legacy alive include her loving son, Brandon (Heather) Wells; brother, Robert (Yvette) Carter; as well as numerous cousins, other close relatives and friends.

     A visitation celebrating Deborah’s life will take place from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. A private funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home.

     Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions and the new reopening requirement we will be limiting our building occupancy to 50% of normal capacity while still enforcing 6 feet of social distancing. Please be prepared for a possible waiting line as we will be closely monitoring the occupancy in order to promote a safe environment for all those attending. Deborah’s family has also asked that those planning on attending be required to wear a face covering in order to protect those from the family that may be susceptible to illness.

     Deborah will be laid to rest at Independence Cemetery in Independence, KY.
