Obituary of Ruth Catherine Poe

     Ruth Catherine Poe “Ma”, 82, of Morning View, KY peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Highland Springs. Ruth attended Community Family Church in Taylor Mill. She enjoyed many activities such as bowling and singing. Ruth was very crafty and found pleasure in decorating cakes, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She will be remembered as the fun, loving person she was who liked to pull pranks on her grandkids.

     Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Melvin Poe, Sr.; daughter, Janet Lee Poe; son, Melvin Jerry Poe; and her mother, Cecile Craig. Survived to mourn her loss are her children, Byron Joseph Poe (Kathy), George Ennis Poe, Robert Melvin Poe, Jr., Samantha Gayle Gillespie (David), Sharon Grace Charles, and Neva Mary Teegarden (Troy); sister, Janet Ellen Twehues; 42 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and many other friends and relatives who will forever cherish her memory.

     A visitation for Ruth will be held on Monday, July 20, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Ruth will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill, KY. Expressions of sympathy can be made in Ruth’s name to Fair Haven Rescue Mission, 260 W Pike St, Covington, KY 41011. Due to the current Covid-19 state restrictions we will be limiting our building occupancy to 50% of normal capacity while still enforcing 6 feet of social distancing and the wearing of face masks.
