My most vivid memory of Nate is the day he rescued me Barb and put dogs Java and Casper from the idiot who was living across the street from me on Linnet St. This guy followed us on our dog walk with his two huge untrained and unfriendly dogs-on very thin retractable leashes! The dogs attacked our dogs and one was trying to grab Javas neck while the other went after Casper and not his face. Nate came out and went after this guy and made him get control of the dogs and get them back in the house. I have never seen him so mad before or since. He was truly our hero that day.
Nate was also a good friend to Doug. As Doug became more disabled and unable to get out, Nate would stop by and play backgammon while listening to Doug’s extensive CD collection.
We both treasured his friendship and we will dearly miss him.

Every time I think of Nathan I remember him cooking elbow macaroni and adding ketchup instead of our homemade pasta sauce. It used to make Dad crazy. I am thankful to know he has reached his home in heaven and is completely healed. May that give comfort to family and friends.

Nathan just adored Linda and Amanda, and was such a gentle soul. I'm a better person by knowing him and his lovely family.

No words can express my sorrow for the passing of Nate. My thoughts and love are with you Linda and Amanda always. A donation was made in his name to Lucky Tales Rescue because he loved all animals especially his best buds Colt and Grace.

The Ross family was truly my second family for most of my adolescence. You all let me invade your home almost daily, and showed me so much love and support. Mr. Ross (Papa Ross, Nathan), was such a kind and encouraging presence in the house. He cooked so many meals for me over the years, always offering to feed me even when I invited myself! His hashbrowns were a particular favorite of mine :) I loved watching him interact with his many pets, and loved watching him with Amanda even more. Nathan was her number one fan! He was so patient and understanding. I can only imagine what he must have thought, watching us learn dances to Backstreet Boys songs, or take over his living room making ridiculous Halloween costumes. He didn't even get too upset when we nearly burned the house down, getting a little too enthusiastic about burning our work after a particularly difficult school year. I am so thankful for the part he played in my life, and so thankful for your entire family. We will miss you so much!
