Obituary of Harry Niceley
Harold Gene Niceley, better known to all who loved him as “Harry,” 70, most recently of Walton, KY passed away after an extended illness at his home on August 21, 2022. He was born the son of Morris and Jean [Littrell] Niceley on July 15, 1952. Growing up in Covington, he went to Holmes High School. Harry made his living by being a stone mason and plasterer. This lovable “punk” got a kick out of messing with and teasing all those he cared about. Harry’s two favorite holidays were Halloween and the 4th of July (the second comes as no surprise to those who knew him, as he loved fireworks!). Harry treasured nothing more than to fish and go on vacation to the beach, specifically Myrtle Beach, with his family.
Harry will be remembered as a cool and favorite uncle, a fun and easy-going brother, a welcoming papaw, a loving and genuine dad as well as husband with an uncanny ability to express his devotion to his family both deeply and spontaneously.
Those left to carry on Harry’s love and legacy are his wife, Debbie Kiskaden; children Christopher “Chris” (Tina) Niceley, Brian (Diana) Niceley, Daniel “Danny” (Kristi) Niceley, Adam Byrd; siblings George (Kelly) Niceley, Stanley Niceley, Pam Byrd, Kevin (Patty) Niceley, Boo (Kim) Niceley, siblings-in-law Suzy (Tom), Annie, Connie (Don), Johnny, Tim, Doug (Char), Phil, Mary (Tom), and David; grandchildren Tiffany, Brian, Jaxon, Jalynn, Jessie, Zach, Caleb, Preston, Kiera, Mason, Megan (Nick), Andrew and great-grandchild Gage as well as many nieces, nephews, other close relatives, friends and neighbors.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Kathy Gross; his sister-in-law Baretta Niceley; and his son Todd Niceley.
All are invited to celebrate the wondrous life of this special man on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. The family will receive guests from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM.
