Obituary of Josephine Timmie Erwin

Josephine Timmie Erwin of Alexandria, age 20, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Josie was born at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood, KY on March 22, 2004, and graduated from Simon Kenton High School, class of 2022. Josie loved to spend time with her friends and family, and she was especially close with her siblings. She was very loving, loyal, creative, and extremely smart. Unfortunately, when she was 14, she was in a motor vehicle accident resulting in a traumatic brain injury. Josie was a fighter and her strength and courage helped her to persevere through various challenges from the accident. She was able to work part time as a hostess at Texas Roadhouse and was about to start driving, which she had always looked forward to. Josie loved music.  Her favorite band is The 1975.  She enjoyed going to concerts and on adventures with her friends. Josie was a very loving girl who cared so much for others. Josie loved to help people and would often babysit at Destiny Care. Josie’s time with us was far too short. Josie was a unique soul and to know Josie, was to love Josie. She will be deeply missed.

Josie is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Stephen Tisa and Florence Tisa; paternal grandpa, Roy Erwin; and her uncle, Tim Erwin.

Josie is survived by her loving parents, Valerie Tisa Erwin and Bruce Erwin; Grandmother Katherine Erwin; beloved siblings, Erika Erwin, Nicholas (Nikuya Rachford), Simon (Cassie Bush), and Patrick Erwin; her sweet little dog, Delilah; aunts and uncles, Stephanie (Eddie) Manning, Marnie (Christopher) Penkalski, Roy (Laura) Erwin, Lance Erwin, and David Varney; as well as many cousins, close friends, and other family members who will cherish her memory forever.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY.
