Obituary of Robert Robbins

Robert Louis Robbins, 63, of Independence passed away Thursday October 25, 2012 at the Cincinnati Veterans Medical Center. He retired after 26 years of service from the Air Force as a SMSGT. Robert enjoyed doing pioneer reenactments, fishing, hunting, camping, playing guitar, his gun collection, and watching the Reds, UK and the Bengals. He is preceded in death by his brother Gary Robbins in 1987. Survivors include his former spouse of over 30 years, Kathleen Robbins and their children Kelly Johnson, Alyssa Yates both of Independence and James Hamilton of Long Island, NY; sisters Sharon Daly of Latonia, Teresa Robinson of Latonia Lakes and Becky Niemeyer of Independence; brothers Jeff Robbins and Dwayne Hicks both of Latonia Lakes and Tommy Robbins of Independence; his father and step-mother Leonard and Esther Robbins of Taylor Mill; mother Dolores Mongold of Latonia Lakes; grandchildren Sean, Kendal and Seth Hamilton-Johnson; Audrey, Ellie, and Brynn Hamilton. Visitation will be Sunday October 28th, 2012 from 1PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 3PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. A reception will immediately follow at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North.
