Obituary of Elmer Johnson

Elmer C. Johnson, age 77, of Union, passed away, Saturday, December 01, 2012, at his residence. He was a retired Manager for Cincinnati Bell and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Taylor Mill. Mr. Johnson enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling and U.K. basketball. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Veteran in the 82nd Airborne. His son, Joseph Johnson; brother, Eugene Johnson; and sisters, Leah Hester York and Pauline McDavid all preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Doan Johnson; daughter, Debra (Lanny) Mallory; sister, Cleo Scott; brother, Herbert "Bud" Johnson; grandchildren, Stephen Johnson (Leanne) Mallory, Abbey (Dave) Rashschulte, and Joseph J. Johnson; and great grandchildren, Aleya Rahschulte and Finley Laurel Mallory. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 AM to 12:30 PM at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 6056 Taylor Mill Rd., Covington, KY 41015. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 PM at the church. Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery. Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 6036 Clubhouse Drive, Covington, KY 41015.
