Obituary of George Finnell

George Finnell, Jr., age 88, of Independence, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Rosedale Manor in Latonia. Mr. Finnell was a retired Builder for Finnell Construction and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Mr. Finnell was a member of the Staffordsburg United Methodist Church, the Bradford Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, the Utopia Club, and the National Farmers Organization. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Survivors include his daughter, Neva (Ron) Piper of Independence; son, Glenn (Genye) Finnell of Orlando, FL; brothers, Ralph Finnell of Stamping Ground, Kenneth Finnell of Independence, and Charles Finnell of Independence; grandchildren, Ryan Piper, Sarah Piper, and Michael Finnell; and great grandson, Cort Piper.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs in Independence. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Independence Cemetery.
