Obituary of Ronnie Danner

Ronnie Lee Danner, age 66 of Independence, Ky., formerly of Burlington, Kansas, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013. He was a retired assistant starter for Churchill Downs. Ronnie was also a US Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. A member of the VFW Post #2921, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool and cards. He attended Burlington High School and graduated from Eureka High School, both in Kansas. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Ray"Jack" Danner. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 28 years, Barb Danner, daughter, Katie Danner, son, Jack Danner, sister, Jaqueline Westmeyer(Tim Galloway), all of Independence, Ky, mother, DeEtta R. Danner of Garnett, Kansas, brothers, Gary Ray Danner of Garnett, Kansas and Larry "Doc"Danner(Bridget) of Louisville, Ky, grandchildren, Brooklyn Danner, Peyton Danner and Parker Alford. Services will be held Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Chambers & Grubbs Florence. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm with a funeral ceremony immediately following. Memorial donations are requested to: Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, 2600 Virginia Ave., N.W. #104, Washington D.C. 20037
