Earl Raymond Mardis, 74, of Walton passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Sanfordtown, Kentucky on December 31, 1938. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Stewart Industries as a Machinist. Earl was currently working for Securitas Security Services. In his spare time he frequently enjoyed wood working, gardening, fishing, NASCAR, and playing video games. Earl is predeceased by his parents, Pete and Bertha (Donovan) Mardis and brother, George Mardis. Earl is survived by his wife Virginia (GinnyLee) of Walton; former wife Emily Kay Mardis of Morningview; daughters Robin Ping of Union, Rynne (Matt) Trenkamp of Erlanger; sons Ricky (Autumn) of Walton; Rocky (Ann) of Crittenden; Rusty (Amy) of Independence; step-daughters Melody Nienaber of Independence; Wendy (Eddie) Ward of Independence; step-sons Terry (Tina) Mardis of Independence and Jeff (Steffany) Mardis of Independence; brother Gary (Juanita) of Independence; 27 grandchildren (Ricky Jr, Danny, Chris, April, Ashley, Megan, Alex, Alisa, Kayla, Ashley, Alicia, Mikayla, Sarah, Samantha, Bobbi, Robby, Autum, Edward, Cody, Jacob, Angela, Joey, Jessie Christina, Amanda, Sarah, Aaron ) and 11 great-grandchildren; Mother-in-Law Beulah Mefford of Independence; Brothers-in-Law James Mefford of Independence ; Jay Mefford of Macon, Georgia; Anna Marie Mefford and Juanita Mardis of Independence. Earl will always be remembered for his dedication to family. Earl was fun witted and spirited in nature. He had a strong passion for enjoying life. Visitation is Friday March, 22, 2013 from 11AM until 1 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Services to start at 1PM. Inurnment will take place at Kentucky Veteran Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.
