Obituary of Marjorie Smoot

Marjorie Garnett Smoot, age 88, of Morning View, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. She was a retired clerical worker for R.L. Polk and a member of the Walton United Methodist Church. "Marge" loved being outdoors, and also enjoyed traveling. She had a passion for helping others and her care was usually accompanied by her warm smile. Her grandson, Casey Wethington preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte (Jim) Wethington; granddaughters, Alice (Harold) Sturgeon and Debi (Daryl) Harris; five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Walton United Methodist Church, 68 South Main St., Walton, KY 41094. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Owenton Cemetery.
