Obituary of Gloria Culbertson

Gloria Mary Maifeld-Culbertson, age 88 of Edgewood, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013. She was born Christmas day, thus her name "Gloria". Her husband William Harris Culbertson, now deceased, was born New Years' Eve. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Margaret Egbring-Maifeld, daughter Leah Culbertson, son Thomas Culbertson and brothers, Robert and Pete Maifeld. Gloria is survived by sons, Bill Culbertson of Edgewood, Richard Culbertson of Orlando, Florida and Kenny Culbertson of Dayton, Ohio and grandchildren, David, Mike and Christopher Culbertson. Gloria was a member of St. Pius Church and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and also the Licking Valley Quilters Association. She enjoyed reading, quilting, crafts, travel and sewing. Gloria was very giving and donated thousands of quilts, baby blankets, dolls, clowns, hats and personal care bags to the homeless, the Womens' Shelter, Welcome House, Madonna House and others. A gathering of friends will take place Saturday April 6, 2013 at Chambers & Grubbs Independence from 5 PM till 7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to Madonna House of Northern Kentucky, 35 Orphanage Rd., Covington, Ky. 41017. A reception meal will be provided immediately afterwards.
