I could tell hundreds of stories about my brother but one that truly sticks out in my mind happened last May when he and his family came to visit with me. After his wife Donna and daughter-in-law and granddaughter left to go visit Donna's aunt and cousin down on Cumberland Lake Randall stayed here for a few days with me. My daugther Kelly and I decided to take Randall down to Lexington to visit with our 91 year old stepmother Rose. She hadn't seen Randall for 20+ years. When we arrived we told Randall to wait in the car for a few minutes and we would go in first and let Linda in on our little secret! Linda let us in and we told her about Randall being in the car and that he was planning on surprising Rose. Randall rang the bell and Linda told Rose to answer the door. She did so and Randall with his UK baseball cap and sunglasses on proceeded to tell Rose if she would take his survey he would give her a certificate for $200.00 dollars to spend at any store in Lexington. She told him she didn't do surveys and tried to shut the storm door. He was persistent and kept trying to talk her into doing the survey. She kept closing the door tighter and tighter so it was almost shut all the way. He asked Rose if he could come inside and she seemed surprised and told him NO! Linda yelled to her to let him in. Rose couldn't believe Linda would say that but did what Linda told her to do. All this time Linda, Kelly and I were in the background trying to keep from bursting out laughing. Randall came in and said to Rose, "don't you know who I am"? She said NO. He took his cap and sunglasses off and all of sudden she knew it was Randall. She was so surprised and couldn't get over him being there. I had told Rose a week before we came down that I would be bringing her a surprise and she said she guessed this was it! I told her yes! We all had a good visit and to this day we can not figure out HOW Randall kept such a straight face and not break out laughing. He did a fantastic job of keeping his identity a secret until the right time. Randall always had such a good sense of humor. Thank you my brother for making me laugh, cry and giving me such wonderful memories of our childhood and all the great times we shared together throughout our lives. A person couldn't ask for a more loving brother than you were to me. Thank you for being You! I will always cherish your memory, MISS you and LOVE you FOREVER. Rest in peace my dear brother. Your sister, Raetta
