Obituary of Joyce Kerns

Joyce Ann Smith Sipple Kerns, age 81, of Independence, went on to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 4th, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was a retired Transportation Dispatcher for Senior Services of Northern Kentucky and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, where she sang in the Celebration Choir. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and gardening. Her husbands, Wayne Sipple and William Kerns; son, Robert Sipple; and great-grandson, Terry McMahan, Jr. preceded her in death. Survivors include her sons, Jack (Connie) Sipple and Richard Sipple; daughter, Brenda (Tim) Rothfuss; grandchildren, Richard W. Sipple, Timothy W. Rothfuss, Brandy McMahan, and Joseph Sipple; ten great grandchildren; and beloved dog, Nellie.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs in Independence. Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at New Vine Run Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
Memorials may be made to the Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11969 Taylor Mill Rd., Independence, KY 41051.
