Harry Thomas Dearwater Jr., 88, of Florence, Ky. passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013. Harry was a retired Dispatcher for Railway Express. He also was a former deacon and custodian for over 25 years at Florence Baptist Church. Harry traveled to many countries doing mission work. He was a veteran of the US Army receiving the purple heart medal while serving in Europe during WWII with the 29th Infantry Division, landing at Normandy on D+3. Harry was a member of the Greatest Generation Foundation. He also was a member of the Florence Masonic Lodge #949. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Becky Dearwater, daughter, Nancy(Kirk)Evans, sons, Gary Thomas(Dana) Dearwater, Dennis Allan Dearwater and William Kelly(Mary) Dearwater, grandchildren, Josh(Brandy)Dearwater, Zac Dearwater, Lindsey Evans, Nathan(Kathryn)Evans, Rob LaManna and Kristen Thurman and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Florence Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Visitation will from 5:00-7:30 PM with the funeral ceremony immediately following. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North.
