Obituary of Gayle Horan

Gayle Linn Anne Victoria Simmons Horan, age 59, of Independence, KY, formerly of South Bend, IN, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. She was a Nurse (B.S.N.) with St. Elizabeth Medical Center and a member of St. Cecilia Church in Independence. Gayle enjoyed reading, making jewelry, cooking, sewing, rescuing dachshunds, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Her aunt, Helen Netteraur preceded her in death. Survivors include her loving husband, Kenneth W. Horan; daughter, Kristen Lynne (Donovan) Davis; grandchildren, Alivia, Emma, and Dylan Davis; parents, Keith E. and Joan M. Simmons; brothers, Mark (Meg) Simmons and Craig (Anne Francis) Simmons; and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Cecilia Church, 5313 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery. Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the S.P.C.A., the Kenton County Animal Shelter, Florence Veterinary Hospital, 8313 U.S. 42, Florence, KY 41042 or any animal rescue organization.
