Jenny had been part of our life for only a short time but we will always cherish the time we spent with her. I am glad that she got to witness the birth of my 2 boys AJ and Jonah and also got to spend time with my oldest son Joseph. Jenny was always so kind and loving to us. Even though we were not related by blood, we were bonded by the love for each other through friendship. Even though I lived away from my family, Jenny and AJ took us in as if we were family. Our time in Ohio was short so leaving back home to Texas was good and bad because we had to leave a part of our hearts behind. I missed spending time with Jenny and I will always hold our time close to my heart. AJ and Tom I will keep you in my prayers during this most difficult time. I love you.

My husband and I (sometimes our kids) loved going over to AJ and Jen's house! We enjoyed celebrating many holidays cooking out, fishing, boating, the pups playing....I always looked forward to Jen's infamous green beans and mashed potatoes (really anything she cooked was AMAZING) those were just my super faves! My mom would always try to duplicate them and say, "I made you some of Jen's green beans"...but secretly I knew they were def NOT Jen's green beans! We enjoyed playing board games that would not make sense to anyone else, but we could be laughing for hours (aka "I can make a tree grow son") lol. My other favorite thing about Jen (besides her yummy food) was how BIG her heart was. Jen would open her arms and reach out to try and help ANYONE with ANYTHING. She was the selfless person that everyone should strive to be like. The day I rescued 8, 6 week old pups, I thought she was gonna try to convince AJ into keeping and saving all of them!! Then they picked out their sweet baby Bella. Bella was definitely Jen's pup! Anywhere she was, Bella was either right next to her or under her feet tripping her :) I could go on and on about what a truly AMAZING, KIND, LOVING, CARING, SELFLESS woman that Jen was...however I will end with this- "When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure." That's one word that best describes Jen...A TREASURE!!! We love you and will miss you lots Jen...watch over your dad and AJ!

To the Johnson Family, I just wanted to let you know how deep your loss has saddened my heart. I started going to Jenny to get my hair done shortly after she opened up her shop. She was the best hairdresser ever. She loved me as a friend and a client as I loved her. She also took care of my young daughters hair as well. She always gave me HUGE discount (she had a loving heart).I just wanted to let you know that she had such a huge impact on my heart that I named my second child (oldest daughter) after her. Jennifer Gripshover....... Please know that her name will live on in a child who is now a grown mother with that same heart of gold! Our prayers and love are with you all. Please know that Jenny touched so many lives. God Bless You All Love, LaVerne Wilson Gripshover

When I was little, Mom would take my sister and me to Jenny to get our hair cut at the cute little shop she had in Walton. I never did anything fancy but Caitlyn did get a perm once. While Mom and Jenny would chat, we would wonder to the back room and play around in the hair sinks and snap together the different sized plastic rollers she had. One time we went to Jenny's after school and it was the day of my first concert at RiverBend. I was 8 years old and going to see the Doobie Brothers with my dad. Jenny made sure I had a nice hairdo for my first concert. I also remember that Jenny had a lot of photos of JFK all around the shop and knew a lot about him. I was fascinated by that and liked to hear everything that she knew about him.
Jenny was always so kind, so happy, and smiling. I always thought she was so beautiful and am so sorry she is gone. Love to her and Shirley, Alexa and Tom...
