Obituary of Vincent Wardia

Vincent Wardia, of Ryland Heights, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood at the age of 89 years. Vincent was self-employed, creating Vic's TV Repair,and also served as the Ryland Heights Fire Chief for 10 years. He was a charter member of the Ryland Heights Lions Club and Social Club, two time President of the Taylor Mill Lions Club, and a Commander in the local Civil Air Patrol. Vincent also was a talented and gifted musician, as well as enjoyed working in his workshop and playing the usual family poker games. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family and friends. Vincent is survived by his daughters, Bonita (Eric) Harmon of Latonia and Anna Wardia of Perryville; sons, Vincent (Linda) Wardia, Jr. of Florence and Mark (Sherrie) Wardia of Ryland Heights; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda; son, James "Skip" Wardia; daughter Tina Wardia; and brothers, John Wardia and Tony Wardia.
A visitation for Vincent will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 5PM until 8 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home the following day, March 14, at 12PM (Noon). Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
