Virgil "Junior" Wolfinbarger, Jr. age 84, of Independence, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. Junior was a retired self-employed carpenter. He was a devoted member of Taylor Mill Pentecostal Church. Junior was a former Mason and Shriner and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed traveling, ministering thru music, attending flea markets, riding motorcycles and scooters, riding horses and loved bluegrass country gospel. More than anything he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Sr. and Ocie Wolfinbarger. Junior is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy (nee Russ)Wolfinbarger, daughters, Pat(Mike)Held, Vickie(Rick)Beers, sons, Tom Wolfinbarger, David(Erica)Wolfinbarger and Jeff(Carmen)Wolfinbarger, sisters, Jean Stepp, Allene Gabbard, brothers, Lewis Wolfinbarger, Bill(Maxie)Wolfinbarger, grandchildren, Becky(Mark)Bingham, Tommy Wolfinbarger, Tony(Amanda)Wolfinbarger, Sandy(Dave)Sidwell, Kandy(Phil)Claycomb, Craig Held, Chris Held, Michael(Kurstin)Beers, Megan Beers, Sarah Wolfinbarger, Zach Wolfinbarger, Jeffrey(Emily)Wolfinbarger and Travis(Kendra)Wolfinbarger and 13 great-grandchildren. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 5-8PM at Taylor Mill Pentecostal Church, 5336 Taylor Mill Rd., Taylor Mill, KY 41015 and also Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 11-12 NOON, with funeral services immediately following. Burial will take place at Floral Hills Cemetery. Memorials donations are requested to: Virgil Junior Wolfinbarger Memorial Fund, C/O any Bank of Kentucky. Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence is handling the arrangements.
