Obituary of Jack Rouse

Jack Rouse, age 85, life time resident of Walton, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Florence. He was a retired Sheet Metal Worker (Union 141) for United Sign Company, a member of Walton Christian Church, a Walton Cemetery Board Member and a former Walton Volunteer Fireman. He enjoyed building custom furniture and muzzleloading rifles, he was a member of the National Muzzleloading Rifle Association, and the Kentucky Corps of Longriflemen. Jack was passionate about civil war history and was a member of the Orphan Brigade Kinfolk Civil War Organization, Morgan's Men Association, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and a lifetime member of the Boone County Historical Society. In addition he wrote a book entitled "The Civil War in Boone County, Kentucky. He also served as a former KY Walton Mayors Court Judge and was a Kentucky Colonel.
His beloved wife of 60 years, Evelyn Flynn Rouse preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughters, Marybeth Arthur and Annette Perkins; brother, Asa Rouse; grandchildren, Jenny Parker, Carrie Hemsath, and Adam Perkins; and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, July 28, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Walton Christian Church, 50 South Main St., Walton, KY 41094. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon at the church.
