Obituary of Virginia Powell

Virginia Powell, 77, of Independence, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center, Covington.
She was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Tabernacle Church, Independence, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 3205.
Her son, Dan Powell, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Ellis Powell; a daughter, Brenda Sue Weaver of Independence; a sister, Dorothy Teegarden of Alexandria; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.
