James Douglas Hartman, age 45, of Crittenden, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014, in Florence, KY. He was a Construction Laborer for Hartman and Smith Construction in Cincinnati, OH. Doug enjoyed fishing, trapping turtles, NASCAR, and U.K. basketball. His mother, Barbara Sharon Hartman; and brothers, Wendell Hartman, Jr., and David Hartman, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Dalton Hartman; daughters, Cynthia, Samantha, Dhakota, and Kiana Hartman; step-children, Roger Dalton, Sr., Russell Hatter, Jr., and Elizabeth Hatter; father, Wendell Hartman, Sr.; six grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; brothers, Edward Wayne Hartman and Brian Keith Hartman; and sister, Rhonda Hartman. Visitation will be Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Hartman family requests for people attending the services to wear U.K. blue in honor of Doug. Memorials may be made to the Hartman family, c/o Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home.
