Obituary of Dartha Dance

Dartha Lorena (nee Hon) Dance, 98, of Frankfort, formerly of Walton, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away September 1, 2014, after a long illness. Dartha was born February 19, 1916, in Elliston, KY to the late Walter Willis and Althea Beaulah (Connelly) Hon. She attended a one room elementary school and was a 1934 graduate of Crittenden High School. She was a life-time member of Sugar Creek Church of Christ. Dartha also enjoyed farming, cooking, sewing, quilting and reading the Bible. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family.
Dartha was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Dance; parents; a sister, LillieBelle Hon Marzluf and great-grandson, Joshua Challis Fannin. She is survived by her son, Edward L. (Susan) Dance of Frankfort; grandchildren, Carla (Brad deceased) Carroll of Frankfort, Amy (Brian) Fannin of Independence and Annette (Larry) Dinsmore of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Emily Paige Fannin, Johnathon Edward Hockensmith, Sean Dance Fannin, William Scott Fannin, Emma Dance Carroll, Lawrence Graham Dinsmore, John Bradley Carroll and Clayton Carroll; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Dartha will be from 12PM until the time of the funeral service at 2PM on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 45 N. Main Street, Walton, KY 41094.
Pallbears serving will be Dartha's grandsons and great-grandsons, as well as her nephew, Joe Marzluf, Jr. of St. Louis. Pastor Bennie Hill, of Lexington, and Pastor Brian Fannin, of Independence, will be officiating the service.
