Clinton "Gator" Edward Spain, 68, of Covington formerly of Alabama passed away peacefully at home Friday, September 19, 2014. He retired as a maintenance supervisor for the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority and in his retirement worked as a groundskeeper for Devou Golf Course. Gator was an avid University of Alabama supporter and was a running back for them his freshman year under coach Bear Bryant.
He is survived by his wife Donna Goetz Villasuso Spain; daughter Marianna Spain (Jason) Cutberth of Corinth, MS and her mother Linda Spain; grandson Jon-Saxton Cutberth; step-children Carla Villasuso of Covington, Marty(Laurie) Villasuso of Middletown, NY, Randy Villasuso of Ft.Wright, John Villasuso of North College Hill, OH; brother James Spain of Allsboro, AL and mother-in-law Kathleen Goetz of Independence.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence from 6 PM until time of Memorial Service at 8 PM.
Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice.
