Obituary of Dicy M. Wood

Dicy M. Wood, 69, of Independence, died Saturday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker and a member of Hilltop Church of Christ, Taylor Mill. She was a former Cub Scout den mother. A daughter, Tammy Wood, died in 1975. Survivors include her husband, John C. Wood; sons, Gary Wood of Walton and John Wood of Independence; a sister, Goldie Parnell of Monticello; a brother, Jess Holder of DuPont, Ind.; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery.
