James "Jim" Anthony Perkins, Sr., age 77, of Morning View, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at his residence. He was retired Engineer, previously working at Cincinnati Milacron, Avey Machine Tool and Die, and Cross Machine Tool and Die Company, a member of St. Patrick Church in Taylor Mill, KY, and a U.S. Navy Veteran. Jim was an active horologist, enjoyed trains and travel, being around nature, and life outdoors. His wife, Marilyn Krummen Perkins and sister, Audrey Hehemann, preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, James "Jim" A. Perkins, Jr.; daughters, Julie (Neil) Spencer and Jenny (Shawn) McKinney; sisters, Lois Dressman, Judy Hull, Francie Mauro, and Pat Thoerner; grandchildren, Jeffrey Smeltzer, JennaRay Smeltzer, Jenae Southard, Ariana Spencer and Miranda Hubig; and great grandchildren, Milla Rae Smeltzer, Krista Nunez, and Karah McKinney. Visitation will be Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 3285 Mills Rd., Covington, KY 41015. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell. Memorials may be sent to St. Patrick Church Building Fund.
