Obituary of Shirley Robinson

Shirley Jean Roberts Robinson, age 75, of Florence, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence. She was a Cosmetologist and Homemaker and a member of New Banklick Baptist Church in Walton. Shirley enjoyed antiquing and called herself a "Collectible of Collectibles". She especially enjoyed collecting Roy Rogers' paraphernalia and jewelry. Her first husband, Gaines Levi Robinson, Jr., her son Carl Douglas "Doug" Robinson, and her parents, Brown and Marrion Roberts preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Jim Glasscock; sons, Gaines Edward "Ed" (Stephanie) Robinson and Jerry Lee Robinson; grandchildren, Gaines Austin Robinson, Ariel Richardson, Julia Robinson, and John Robinson; great granddaughter, Hailey Richardson; and many loving friends. Visitation will be Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Richwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to New Banklick Baptist Church, 10719 Banklick Rd., Walton, KY 41094.
