Obituary of Berneece Craddock
Please share a memory of Berneece to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jocelyn Berneece Shinkle Craddock was born on August 24, 1926 in Boone County Kentucky. It is here that she lived the majority of her life. Berneece was the daughter of the late Fritz & Mattie Shinkle.
Berneece was a very strong and independent part of her family. She was loved by many during her life which was the result of many nicknames she was given. They all suited her well! Her & Arnold's dearest friends, Vernon & Edna Masters gave her the name, Minnie. Her nieces and nephews that were her baby brother Bob's children gave her the name Bum! When she went to live at Villa Springs in Erlanger, her nurses & aides gave her the name Bernie, short for Berneece of course.
Berneece never met a stranger, loved to clean her house, was very dedicated to all her family and the most honorable quality she had was that she never told a lie! Anyone that knew her could certainly tell you to not ask her opinion because like it or not, she would tell you what she thought!!
November 6, 1943, Berneece & Arnold married. From that union, on November 11, 1944, their son Vic was born. Ten years later, on April 15, 1957, their daughter G.G. was born. Berneece & Arnold lived in their home where both of their children had been born until Arnold's job with General Electric took them to Tennessee. They lived there for four years and then returned to Kentucky. Arnold passed away on May 5, 1994.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Vic Craddock; daughter, G.G. (Mac) Maxedon; grandchildren, Missy (Dave) Ross, Nisha (Mike) Moore, Schelly (Steve Beardon) Napier, Chad (Lindsay) Maxedon & Blake (Shandal) Maxedon; great-grandchildren, Casey Moore, Mason Moore, Samuel Maxedon, Aubrey Maxedon, Carter Maxedon & Blake Maxedon; two sister-in-laws, Wanda Young & Betty Lou Craddock; as well as many other nieces, nephews, family & friends.
Berneece had a very special person in her life that was the most precious to her; her niece & very best friend-Tina Shinkle. Her love & friendship was so very dear to Berneece.
