Obituary of Billie Dunn

Billie E. Dunn, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 while visiting in Cincinnati, OH. He was a resident of St. Petersburg, FL., but had lived in Covington, KY most of his life. His wife off 66 years, Lillie (Pearce) Dunn and his grandson, Wade R. Royek, preceded him in death. He was a dear father to Patricia Roberto of Cincinnati, OH, Wanda (Mike) Finch of Sarasota, FL and Gary (Shelagh) Dunn of St. Petersburg, FL. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. He served as a Marine in WWII and was a guard for President Roosevelt at the White House in Washington D.C., the Little White House in Warm Springs, GA And wherever the President would go when he left D.C. After his duty as a guard for the President, he went to the Pacific where he proudly served with the War Dog Platoon on Guam and Okinawa as a sentry, dog trainer and scout. He worked for R.A. Jones, Inc. until he retired and moved to Florida where he owned his own lawn mower and small motor repair shop. He was a devout Christian, always saying goodbye to everyone he met with the words, "May the grace of God be with you always". Everyone who knew him will dearly miss him.
