Obituary of Lawrence Everman

Lawrence Everman, of Ryland Heights, KY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the age of 98. He served in the Marine Corp. during WWII and enjoyed fishing, gardening and carpentry. Lawrence was a member of Decoursey Baptist Church for 50+ years, was a resilient floor mechanic and a lifetime member of the United Brotherhood & Joiners of America. Lawrence was a student of history, a sage with many stories and a proficient wordsmith. He enjoyed doing charitable acts for children and was a former Mayor of Fairview, KY. Lawrence's greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family and friends.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nietta (nee Payne) Everman; sisters, Dorothy Hacker & Pauline Steward; and brothers, Clarence Everman & Tom Everman. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Ann Bannon & Ellen Everman Deaton; son, Larry (Wilda) Everman; sisters, Ruth Furthmiller, Ruby McNay & Joan (Jim) Fawbush; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Lawrence will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 9:00AM until the time of the funeral service at 10:30AM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
