"Auntie Doc" was our very own sweet, precious, answer & cure-all for everything-'next-door'- in the country-childhood-Dallas pediatrician. She was a lifeline to my mother, Daisie, raising 4 small children, out in the 'boonies', mostly alone, while our father, Dick, worked long hard hours as a veterinarian. Momma has always said she never would have made it without Auntie Doc's medical help, love and support. The 4 of us kiddos, Libby, Lynn, Christy & Mitch were thrilled when she adopted her son Mark...we had a next door play-mate at last! Then sadly, years later, she lost Mark, and more years later, we lost Mitch. Auntie Doc was so intelligent, wise, and giving. She meant more to the Smithwick family than these words can express. It was only 2 weeks ago, that I received a very touching 'memory' letter from Auntie Doc on my "Walk to Emmaus". I regret deeply, not calling her immediately upon my return to thank her for such a thoughtful letter. Her 40+ years of friendship to our family will always be remembered and treasured. Our heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends. Phillipians 1:3 We thank our Lord for the many blessings of Auntie Doc. Lynn Smithwick Seibold for Dr. and Mrs. R.M.
