Obituary of Thelma Davis

Thelma Ware Davis, age 93, of Morning View, KY passed away Sunday, June 28th at Coldspring Transitional Care Center in Cold Spring, KY. She was the youngest of three daughters to William Henry and Edith Halderman Ware. Her husband, James A. Davis, and sisters Mildred Ware Frederick and Melba Ware Cook, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Diana Davis Richardson (Charles) of Bowling Green, KY and Darlene Davis Popper of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Sherri Richardson Grissom (Jason) of Bowling Green, KY, Lisa Richardson Bippert (Eric) of Rosamond, California, Chris Popper (Michelle) of Piner, KY and Samantha Popper King (John) of Houston, TX; great grandchildren, Nicholas Grissom, Ryan Bippert, Emily Bippert, Michael Popper, James Popper, Brittany Popper, Laura King, Chaylin King, and Tegan King. Formerly, she was an employee of J.C. Penney's and McAlpins in Cincinnati, and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Independence, KY. Over the years, Ms. Davis enjoyed teaching Sunday School, farming, reading and doing crossword puzzles. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 1st at 3 p.m. at the Forest Lawn Cemetery Chapel in Erlanger. Interment will immediately follow at the cemetery. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence will be assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 1806 Scott Blvd., Covington, KY 41014.
