Obituary of Gertrude Howard

Gertrude Holbrook Howard, 92, of Louisville, died Saturday at Norton Suburban Hospital in Louisville.
She was a member of Third Street Freewill Baptist Church, Paintsville, and a former worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
A son, George Henry Howard, and a daughter, Betty Louise Blanton, both preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Thomas J. Howard of Louisville; sisters, Irene Holbrook of Louisville, Molly Griffin of Winchester and Blanche Blanton of Paintsville; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Independence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 6612 Dixie Highway, Suite 2A, Florence, Ky. 41042; or American Heart Association, 2936 Vernon Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence, is handling arrangements.
