Obituary of Marlene Flanagan

Marlene "Dodie" Louden Flanagan, age 84, of Independence, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at her residence. She was a Homemaker and later a Food Service Attendant for Simon Kenton High School. Dodie enjoyed sewing, gardening, shopping and traveling. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, the Irish Rovers, and enjoyed spending time at the Independence Senior Center. Her husband, John Patrick Flanagan and brother, Bobby Louden preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Bush (Gary), Cheryl Baker, and Terri Meeker; sons, Brian Flanagan (Karen), Daryl Flanagan (Michele), and Kevin Flanagan (Kim); sisters, Ilene Bradshaw Janie Willman (Pat); brothers, Harry Louden (Carol) and Mark Louden; thirteen grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, July 16, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at noon at the church. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 1 Medical Village Dr., Edgewood, KY 41017 or St. Cecilia Church Building Fund, 5313 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
