Obituary of Donald McKenzie

Donald Lee McKenzie, of Florence, KY passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the age of 74. He was an Army veteran and a retired Director of Public Safety at Northern Kentucky University. Donald enjoyed collecting Agatha Christie novels and World Almanacs, golfing and dancing. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eunice McKenzie and brother, James McKenzie Jr.. Donald is survived by his loving wife, Karen; daughter, Leslie McKenzie; grandchildren, Jessica (J.R.) Charles and Matthew DeVan; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Charles, Caleb Charles and Emma Charles; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. A Gathering of Friends will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 5:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 7:00 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Memorials may be directed to the Fresenius Dialysis Center 7205 Dixie Hwy Florence, KY 41042 and/or St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 S. Loop Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017.
