Obituary of Harvey Monroe

Harvey Gene Monroe, age 74, of Independence, KY passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at his residence. Harvey was a self-employed block mason and a member of Community Family Church. He loved to build things, go camping with family, read his bible and spread the word of the Lord as a Pentecostal preacher. He also ushered at Community Family Church.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry G. Monroe; brothers, Charlie and John Lakes; Nephew, Jerry Lakes; step-son, James Rose; step-daughter, Theresa Tucker. Harvey is survived by his wife, Aileen Monroe; daughter, Donna Hurston (Tom); son, Tim Monroe; step-children, Kim Allon Rose, Elvis M. Rose (Debbie), Don E. Rose (Pam), Kenneth Rose, Jr. (Kimberley), Betty J. Carnes (Joe), Rena F. Epperson (Dallas), Vicki M. Conyers (Eugene); sisters, Jackie Colbe and Laverne Chase; grandchildren, Shawn Hurston and Mark Hurston and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence, KY from 6-8 PM. A second visitation will take place the following day at Community Family Church in Independence, KY from 12 Noon until the funeral service beings at 1 PM. Interment will immediately follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY.
