Obituary of Gary Cheesman

Gary Ray "Peterhead" Cheesman age 60, of Morning View, died Sunday, December 27th, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. He was a member of Morning View United Methodist Church, he served as a volunteer firefighter/paramedic for many years with the Kenton Volunteer Fire Department, was a heavy equipment operator for Carlisle Construction from 1988 until retiring, a member of Ohio operating engineers and a great provider for his family.
He is preceded in death by his father Joseph "Bud" Cheesman in 2011, sister, Kathy Ann Farmer in 2001, and sister, Rebecca "Becky" Lucas in 2006. Gary was a devoted father for 28 years to Meranda Lynn Davis (Quentin), Kimberly Jo Cheesman (Josh), and Kathrine Jane Cheesman (Rory); beloved son of Mary Evelyn "Dutch" Cheesman; cherished grandfather of Ryann Alexis Davis; beloved brother of Cynthia Lynn Scott (Duke) and Joseph William Cheesman; loving uncle to nine nieces and nephews; and great uncle to nine great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral in Independence. Funeral services will be Monday, January 4, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Morning View United Methodist Church or the American Lung Association.
