Obituary of Everett Clinkenbeard

Everett Samuel "Sam" Clinkenbeard, age 85, of Walton, passed away Friday, January 29th, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. He was a retired Farmer, a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Walton Christian Church. Sam loved basketball and you could often find him at Walton Verona boys or girl's games or other high school games on game nights. He especially took pride in watching his children and grandchildren play and coach. Sam is survived by his wife (of 59 years), Connie Mae Black Clinkenbeard; son, Mark Clinkenbeard (Melissa); daughter, Sherry Clinkenbeard Smith (Cory); sister, Bettie Sue Mefford; and grandchildren, Molly, Matt, and Zachary Clinkenbeard and Travis, Taylor and Avery Smith. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chamber and Grubbs Funeral Home in Walton. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Walton Christian Church. Interment will be at Beaver Lick Cemetery in Walton, KY. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 1 Medical Village Dr., Edgewood, KY 41017 or Walton Christian Church, 50 South Main St., Walton, KY 41094.
