Obituary of Gary Brown

Gary Ronald Brown, an honest, loving, hard-working man, passed away on March 3, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 yrs., Elaine M. Justice; brother, Phillip Brown; sisters, Margaret Harper and Joann Muench,; half-brothers Charles & Clinton Little; and an extended family of nephews, nieces, and grand-nephews and nieces.
Gary was born in Eldorado, IL, on May 15, 1941. After a very difficult childhood he moved to Cincinnati, OH, where he met Elaine, his soul mate. They married on September 6, 1975. Gary supported Elaine in pursuing her career and they moved to Norfolk, VA, in 1979 for Elaine's job. Gary worked for many years in the food industry, including 18 yrs. as head cook at Tandom's Pine Tree Inn in Virginia Beach. His favorite pastime was thoroughbred racing, enjoying the handicapping and watching them run. He also loved his garden, visiting estate sales with Elaine, and traveling. He loved people and tried to make the world a better place by helping them and making them laugh.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 5313 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Burial will immediately follow at St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery.
If desired, contributions may be made in Gary's name to either the St. Cecilia Building Fund (address above) or to Goodwill Industries, which helped Gary and his brother in time of need.
