James Joseph Jaehnen, age 73, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. James worked in the auto body industry for most of his life, but most recently had worked for the Boone County Public Library. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the Train Collectors Associations. James' hobbies included buying, selling, and collecting trains, especially Lionel Trains and Plasticville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Lorraine Jaehnen; sisters, Arlene Riegler and Viola "Vi" Quinn; and brothers, Robert and Billy Jaehnen. He is survived by his loving wife Vida; daughter, Melanie Jaehnen (Eddie Fain); sons, Jeffrey "Jeff" Jaehnen (Amanda) and Brian Jaehnen (Shannon); sister Nancy Borchert (Wendall); brother Eddie Jaehnen (Ann); two grandchildren, Maddie and Delia Jaehnen. A visitation for James will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 10AM until 11AM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence. The Funeral Service will begin at 11AM, also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, in Williamstown. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 1 Medical Village Dr. Edgewood, KY 41017 or to the Alzheimer's Association Greater Cincinnati Chapter, 644 Linn St. Suite 1026 Cincinnati, OH 45203.
