Obituary of Carroll Carter

Carroll Carter, 88, of Independence, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood. Born in Independence, he was the son of the late Russell and Sallie (Williams) Carter.
Carroll was a retired Sales Engineer at Rusk Heating and Air-conditioning. As a Master Sergeant in the United States Army he proudly served his country during the Korean War. Carroll was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and spent his time farming, watching the Cincinnati Reds and UK Basketball.
He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Marilyn (Russell) Carter, two children; Allen (Colleen) Carter of Independence, and David Carter (Timothy Northcutt) of Florence, three Grandchildren; Joshua (Amber) Carter, Craig (Christina) Carter, and Andrew Carter, three Great-Grandchildren; Roxy, Emmy, and Maddie.
Carroll was preceded in death by his brother Robert Carter, and his sister Norma Jean Wood.
A visitation for Carroll will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 10AM until 12PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. The funeral service will begin at, 12PM, also at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Independence Cemetery.
