Ellis "Buzz" Mullins, 95, of Independence, KY, passed away on Monday, May, 16th, 2016.
Ellis served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Independence. A jack of all trades, who was mechanically inclined, Ellis, was a retired H.V.A.C Technician for King's Heating & Air and enjoyed farming and gardening. At the age of 16, Ellis joined the Civil Conservation Corps (CCC) and transferred out West to work at a Lumber Camp in Utah. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Emma May Fisk Mullins, three sons; Larkin Earl (Millie), John Paul, and Rex Dean Mullins; four grandchildren, Shelley Meier, Chris, Zachary, and Scott Mullins; one brother, Eldon Mullins; and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Larkin E. Mullins and De`Lores Mangold; three brothers Richard, Randell, and Lloyd Mullins; three sister, Alberta Tobergte, Catherine Collins, and Virgina Callen.
Visitation for Ellis will be held from 11-1 PM, Thursday, May, 19th, at Chambers & Grubbs in Independence. Funeral service will follow at 1 PM. Interment will be at Wilmington Cemetery, 15472, Madison Pike, Morning View, KY.
