Mike and I had a different kind of relationship. I've been in this family for over 13 years and had just started feeling like I was getting to know him. He was a tough cookie. On many levels. He is, was and always will be one of the most caring men I have ever met. He had his layers, but at the core of them was a heart bigger than life. I thought just the other day of how awesome it was that up until the very end, up until he physically could NOT do it anymore, he made sure he was a part of everything. He made it to Sam's ball games, he went to church often, he came to birthday parties....even when something prevented him from actually going inside or making it, "Pop" came. There wasn't anything that man did that didn't come with good, loving and heartfelt intentions. I feel blessed to have been a part of Mike's family. He's bailed me out of situations only a father would.... my babies have all taken their turns sleeping on his big belly, and his kids worship the ground he walks on. He left this life leaving a huge impact and will be missed terribly. Thank you Morrison family for allowing me to be a part of his final days.
