Obituary of Ronald E. Nance

Ronald E. Nance, 66, of Independence, died Tuesday at his home. He was a retired carpenter for Central Bridge Construction Co., an Air Force veteran and a member of the Cincinnati Local Carpenters Union. His wife, Carol "Sue" (Bowlin) Nance, died Nov. 30. A son, Demetrius Nance, also preceded him. Survivors include sons, Ronnie Nance Jr. of Borden, Ind., Jeffrey Nance of Independence, Steven Adkins of Chillicothe, Ohio, Tommy Pierson, Walton, and Anthony Pierson, Independence; daughters, Ronnette Frazier and Tina Calautti, both of Borden, Ind., Deanne Theising of St. Croix, Ind., Stacie Nance of Independence, Tammy Kerr of Warsaw, Deanna Williams of Florence and Amanda Nance of Burlington; his father, John H. Nance Sr. of Greenville, Ind.; brothers, John Nance Jr. of Greenville, Ind., David L. Nance of New Albany, Ind., Roger Nance of Sennville, Tenn., and James Nance of Memphis, Ind.; sisters, Joyce Smith of Taswell, Ind., Mary Garrett of Greenville, Ind., Martha Baird of English, Ind., Dorothy Denton of Starlight, Ind., Marilyn Jean Sherrod and Wanda Denton, both of New Albany; step-brothers, Robert Moser of Pekin, Ind., Harold Moser of Borden, Ind., Chester Moser of Palmyra, Ind., and Paul Moser of Floyd Knobs, Ind.; 25 grandchildren and two great granddaughters. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery, Walton. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Center or the American Cancer Society.
