Obituary of Leonard Cook

Leonard Cook Jr., 87 of Morning View, KY, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at his residence. Junior was a retired farmer, retired driver for Dennis Trucking, former owner/operator of Kentuckiana Tobacco Warehouse in Carrolton, KY, former owner/operator of Eagle Valley Recreation Center, formerly delivered newspapers for the Cincinnati Post and Kentucky Post & Times Star, a member of Piner Baptist Church, a 50 year member of the Wilmington Masonic Lodge, member of the Scottish Rite, a KY Colonel and was honored with his wife in the dedication of the Cook/Wagner Fieldhouse at Simon Kenton High School.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Sue Caldwell Cook and a son, Joseph Cook. Junior is survived by sons; James Cook (Kimberly) and Jeffrey Cook (Diane), sisters; Janice Ryan (Walt) and Mabel Roberts, grandchildren; Brian Cook (Stacey), Jeremy Cook (Beth), Amy Heeger (Jeremiah), Jessica Medina(Hector) and Nikki Haubner, great-grandchildren; Jessica, Kyndel, Jaedin, Alex, Mayson, Isabelle, Joseph, Trey, Ty, Liliana, Wyatt and Delaney.
Services will be held at Chambers & Grubbs Independence. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 10 AM. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery.
Memorial donations are suggested to: Wilmington Masonic Lodge, Hospice of the Bluegrass or Piner Baptist Church.
