Obituary of Gerald Chambers

Gerald S. Chambers, age 63, of Villa Hills, KY, passed away Monday, August 1, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. He was a retired U.S. Postal Worker (for 35 years), a U.S. Navy Veteran, and a retired Bus Driver (for over 20 years) for Kenton County Schools.
Gerry was active over the years in youth sports, serving as a founding member of the South Kenton Lions Football Organization, former President of the Simon Kenton Sideliners Club, and other activities of his children. He also enjoyed U.K. basketball, boating, golf, NASCAR, and most of all spending time with his family.
His parents, John and Cecil Mae Chambers; and brother, John Chambers, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Robin Matteoli Chambers; children, Chrissy Fitch (Steve), Cory Chambers (Sarah), and Ryanne Ross (Bill); and grandchildren, Christopher Pieper, Emilee Pieper, Mason Fitch, Karah Chambers, Brooks Chambers, Cooper Ross, and Jordyn Ross.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 6, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with funeral services to follow at noon at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral in Independence.
