Obituary of Norma Smith

Norma June Smith, of Walton, KY and formerly of Chillicothe, OH, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the age of 77. She was born in Sciotoville, OH on June 29, 1939; the daughter of Albert and Lillian Diller. She was a retired secretary for the Chillicothe School System and a longtime member of the "Hobby Club". Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and grandchildren. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Janet Hickson and Wanda Lewis and nephew, Mitchell Shannon Lewis. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Maurice Smith; son, Leslie (Wendy) Smith; grandchildren, Jacob Tanner Smith and Madison Marie Smith; sisters, Nancy Donahue, Joan Mahley and Vickie McGinnis; brother, James (Margaret) Diller; brother-in-laws, Larry Hickson and Gene Lewis; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation for Norma will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Burial will immediately follow at Independence Cemetery, 5358 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.
